Reminiscence I

I've decided with all the reminiscing Paul and I do together about everything, we may as well start documenting some of them. So for our first reminiscence we go back to Discovery Cove 2011. What a paradise that small area is. I honestly cannot compare that park to any other place. The warming sun constantly shinning, the immaculate reef fully stocked with hundreds of tropical fish and rays, and of course the never forgettable ride with the dolphins.

Our dolphin's name was Marea. She was the most magnificent mammal in all the world. Her rubber skin was soft and sleek, she was clean of all scratches and she had the disposition of a giddy little princess.

Paul could not get over how amazing the sting rays were in the reef. They were absolutely breath taking; to touch their wings and to witness their smooth fluid movements. Neither one of us will ever forget the free and weightless feeling of holding to Marea and her transporting us across the pool. You could feel her strength with every kick she made. We were treated as royalty at the park thanks to Emilie's beyond VIP passes. Our guide for the day was so caring, she set up an appointment for us to meet the incredibly rotten smelling anteater and sloth. Though extremely cool to be about to pet such atrocious animals it will be a lasting memory. We decided to try dropping the honeymoon card while we were there and it just so happened to pay off. Discovery allowed us to try their new Seaventure activity. We were able to walk on the bottom of the reef with only a helmet feeding us oxygen. We felt so heavy yet light down there. We moved as if we could no more than crawl along the bottom. The tropical fish and rays surrounded us on our leisure walk in the water. Nothing compared to our day at the spectacular Discovery Cove.
